Centre for Community Development and Environmental Restoration (CENCUDER)
Founded in 2008 and a registered NGO in the Cameroon undertaking sustainable agricultural activities to protect the forest and natural resources, school and community projects, and provide access to clean and affordable energy.
This project is an expanded version of the work supported with a donation in June 2023.
The organisation seeks to strengthen the conservation of declining wildlife populations in the Bakossi National Park (BNP) by raising awareness of the rights of animals and of maintaining the beauty of the ecosystem in the protected area. It works to prevent further destruction of wildlife habitats through unsustainable agricultural practices – such as slash and burn – through providing training in regenerative agriculture specifically, regenerating ageing cocoa farms using inga alley cropping and other nitrogen fixing trees.
A small grant was awarded to support sensitization and capacity building workshop on wildlife conservation and management and towards the purchase of tools for nursery establishment; management and inga alley cropping/transplanting.
